Important Definitions

Slander: defamation; calumny; rumors full of slander. A malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report; a slander against a person's good name. Law: defamation by oral utterance rather than by writing, pictures, etc. To utter slander against; defame. To utter or circulate slander.

Defame: to attack the good name or reputation of, as by uttering or publishing maliciously or falsely anything injurious; slander or libel.
